TESTIMONIALS: COACHES

"I highly recommend V-Flex to other coaches. It's impact on hitters is undeniable."

Steve Peterson (R), Middle Tennessee State University

“Training on this system provides our hitters with the best training possible for becoming more disciplined at the plate. Also, we want our players to know that we are excited to be a part of this new brain based system that represents change in a sport that is entrenched in tradition”.

Bubba Cates, UT Martin Head Baseball

"I’m very much sold on the V-Flex. The thing that I noticed dramatically was our pitch selection. Our players were definitely learning to only attack pitches in the strike zone. We use the V-Flex everyday! We even bought a travel one to bring with us on the road. Our players really believe in it. Our OPS is almost 1.000 and we are hitting over .330 as a team. We have hit 24 home runs in 22 games and are getting a lot of extra base hits. Our strikeouts are also down quite a bit from this time last year. I would encourage other coaches to purchase the V-Flex. "

Mike Larabee, University of Arkansas

TESTIMONIALS: ZONEFORCE PARTICIPANTS WHO'S REGIMENS INCORPORATIED THE  V-FLEX HITTING SYSTEM

Students were sophomores, juniors, and senior high school students who were already performing at a high calibur both athletically and academically, or had already been offered college baseball scholarships. Names have been removed for privacy purposes.

"It’s really helped in past few weeks as I’ve been doing it. I’ve noticed a direct change in my ability to pick out one pitch ... [V-Flex has helped me in] just recognizing that pitch and that location earlier-from the release point, rather than a few seconds before I engage my swing. ...it’s definitely helped my game... my power ratings have gone up... I’ve hit more home runs, more RBIs... I’ve been very pleased."

"I thought that the V-Flex was very helpful ...because it allows you to focus on one spot, you can pick up the ball faster and decide whether it’s a strike or a ball quicker and put a better swing on the baseball... I can pick pitches that I want to take or want to hit.. I have been hitting the ball harder, into spots that I want to, based on my timing."

TESTIMONIALS: PARENTS WEIGHING IN ON THE CHANGES THEY'D SEEN IN THEIR SONS SINCE BEGINNING V-FLEX

"The biggest difference for him is plate discipline. He goes up [to bat] looking for one pitch, usually in a particular zone, and he’s able to recognize it - really quick. And the difference in yards or feet that he’s making in early recognition is making all the difference in the world. His power numbers are way up and he’s driving the ball..."

“Since starting this program, he has hit a home run almost every game. He hit home runs in the spring and he hit home runs in the summer, but not with the consistency he has now. And, his home runs seem to be going farther. He’s had a lot of doubles and his RBIs have increased- statistically, he has seen great improvement.”

“[I've seen a difference] especially, in home run numbers - this fall he’s had six... and many doubles on top of that. Hes very confident up there in the box. He knows what hes after and he’s going for it."

V-Flex Hitting System

THE BASICS:

The V-Flex Hitting System modifies standard batting practice by appying researched brain-based technologies to  retrains a hitter to envision the strike zone from a large rectangular shape, encompassing the majority of a players torso and legs (the “numbers to knees” zone), to a circle within that orginal zone. Within this circle, hitters are taught to envision a V-shaped area at the top, comprising the space of 7 baseballs. These baseballs represent 7 pitches which then transfer to a 33-pitch “core strike zone.” This trains a hitter to realize, almost from the point of release, which pitches will likely result in strikes and which will not. Since this recongition occurs significantly closer to release, a hitter is able to decide whether or not to swing much sooner.

HOW THIS TRANSLATES INTO RESULTS:

Because a hitter's brain has been re-trained to work within a much more accurate strike zone, pitch recognition and plate discipline both increase significantly, resulting in more quality at-bats. Overall, players who go through V-Flex training see significant improvements in the following:

  • Early Pitch Recognition

  • Strike Zone Development

  • Quality At Bats

  • Plate Discipline

TRAINING REGIMEN

  • 45 minute sessions

  • 3x per week

  • Easily transportable equipment -- 3 rolling screens that can be placed in any practice arena, inside or out, and can be moved before or after practices

  • While many teams like to use V-Flex before the baseball season begins, it is actually able to be implemented during the baseball season, as well; since it will not disrupt a baseball practice routine, but will only add to a practice routine already in place.

V-Flex has been used with the teams at the following schools:

Softball: University of Florida, Auburn University, University of Arkansas, University of South Carolina, Virginia Intermount, Georgian Court University, West Chester University, Northeast Mississippi CC, Unicoi County HS, Science Hill HS, Volunteer HS and University HS

Baseball: Baylor University, North Carolina State University, Duke University, University of Michigan, Lincoln Memorial University, Central Arkansas University, Carson Newman University, Berea College, UT Martin, Tennessee Tech University, Roane State Community College, Northeast Community College, MS, Francis Marion University and LSUS.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE WAY V-FLEX RETRAINS A BATTER:

"V-Flex changes batters from the inside out.

When V-Flex is used the eyes are forced to recalibrate to true center by creating a magnetic resistance force in the center of the strike zone.  During V-Flex training the visual cortex receives a clearer signal from a strike passing through the V because the eyes are in a more perfect position to receive the signal from the ball. This in turn allows the visual cortex to send more consistent information to the motor cortex.

This system assists each batter by giving their brain the maximum amount of information from a strike.  By changing the angle of the eyes to a more centered position we are impacting the information the brain is processing.  Medical example:  Optometrist use certain instruments to adjust patients eyes and gauge light refraction so they can design a pair of glasses that fit their eyes perfectly.  This can only be done if the eyes are looking straight ahead.  These instruments are designed to force the eyes to look straight ahead during the mapping process.  V-Flex does the same thing but it does it on a baseball field and not in an office.  The end result is a clearer representation of the strike zone."
